They have plans in place working with a number of diversity advocation groups (all visible on the careers website I believe). Depending on the site you are on and the part of the country you are in the-on-the-ground culture ranges from very progressive and accepting to less so. Enquiry about the specific site and team you are looking if this is of concern to you.

I haven't noticed any issues with diversity I think we have a good mix of people and I don't see any favoritism.

Definitely a strong focus which is very good to see! well integrated. Need to be wary that it shouldn't be too forced, and praise is still given to people outside of this community i.e inclusion of LGBTIQA+ doesn't come at the expense of exclusion of others. NZM site's inclusivity could be improved.

I think that diversity is always still a work in progress, but I have seen some great things such as having a prayer room, participation in pride, and great maternity leave with guaranteed job to come back to for mothers. In terms of the grad cohort I think there is good diversity amongst this, and when recruiting there is no open exclusion of anyone.

There has been some commitment to diversity and inclusion but if oftentimes can come off as tokenistic. A lot of the initiatives that have been made have been passionate people taking matters into their own hands. I do understand that Maori initiatives are relatively well represented but more could be done to help integrate them into the workplace. I also do feel as though there is basically no LGBTQI representation as the glow group does not do anything, there are barely any company-sponsored cultural initiatives and there is always more that can be done to help support women in STEM roles.

A lot of people who have climbed the ranks don't necessarily have a university degree, but started as an operator, showed initiative and interest to learn, which has taken them to where they are now.

I honestly don't know - sorry. I do think a lot of jobs wouldn't require degrees and with just a small amount of time investment, even like an internship they could encourage more social mobility.
