A huge part of Fonterra's work is on shrinking their environmental impact and using sustainable fuels, such as converting coal boilers to biomass or electrode.

See the above answer about CSR. Fonterra are in a tricky position where methane emissions from dairy are inherently bad. New Zealand has among the lowest emissions per milk produced among the world but is also in one of the least flexible places to change those numbers, should new developments occur.

I think theres some great projects and actions being taken in regards to sustainability and it is one of the companies key drivers and goals.

Change to biomass boilers from coal. Fonterra milk is some of the world's most sustainability milk providing quality nutrition to the world.

Sustainability is massive in all aspects of Fonterra and I think it is done very well - eg. Farmer support and financial incentives, listening to customer signaling, moving away from coal in manufacturing etc.

I think that while Fonterra can be more committed to sustainability, it will always be criticsed due to where our business is in terms of dairy farming and emissions and damage to the environment. The best thing would be maximising the value and returning some of that back to compensate for that loss.

It says its trying a lot and there's KPI's in relation to these, unsure of the actual impacts however

Sustainability is huge in the dairy game, and from my knowledge it is very high on Fonterra's priority list .

Yeah I think they try, but being financially healthy is very important to them

We try hard but it is difficult given the industry we are in but they definitely try and that is important.
